This Bovine’s Messiest Moment – Bleach It Away campaign

Spending time with friends and family can lead to fun and memorable moments, but also some very messy ones. Tell us about the messiest moments that you’ll always remember!

As a Bovine, messes come naturally to me.  Messes also come easily to my 4 calves.  I could moo on and on about our numerous messy moments and had quite a difficult time narrowing it down to just one.  But for the sake of anyone reading this I will limit myself to one moment that really sticks in my mind.

When my oldest calf was a young 2 and a half, his younger sister was born.  As a tired, overwhelmed young mother, I naively thought my young offspring was a genius who could play quietly on his own for brief periods.  He was such a sweet child, playing quietly in the kitchen so that his mommy could relax while the baby napped.  I figured the kitchen was child proofed, how much trouble could my young son get into?  Besides, if he was doing something really bad, wouldn’t it be noisy? Ah, the joys of young mother ignorance.

I faded off to sleep just for a second on the couch.   I awoke to familiar sound of baby squeals through the monitor.  I got my big Bovine hiney up off the couch and made my way into the kitchen to fetch my new babe’s bottle.

When I entered the kitchen, it looked so pretty and white; almost like a fluffy layer of snow had enveloped it.  Only it wasn’t snow…it was flour.  Lots and lots of flour.  My young calf was covered from head to toe in it, the kitchen floor was covered in it, even the kitchen ceiling was covered in it.  It seemed the entire kitchen was covered in flour.  And there was my young calf so proudly sitting in the middle of it all, looking like he had just finished creating the Mona Lisa.

You know what the best part was about cleaning up that mess?…Mix flour and water and what do you get?   That’s right…paste.  Ah what a fun, sticky time that was.  Fortunately, I had my spray bottle of Clorox Bleach and water handy.  I leave this bottle in my kitchen and use it all the time to clean the  counters, sink, fridge etc…who knew my spray bottle would also be handy to get flour off the ceiling.
